I did my research and know these can be great and they also can be fakes. This is the real deal and a reputable great company. Well packaged and price is spot on compared for amazon. I have only had it two days now so I can not speak of long term effects, but even simply as a lamp it is relaxing and alluring. I plan to get at least 3 more for our home.
It had started as a coping mechanism to keep my mind off of my worries — a stabbing here, a throat-slit there — but it quickly spun out of control. First it was an ugly wanted man, then a good-looking catcaller, next, a creep on the bus, then a guy who yelled at my dog, eventually some lady didn’t hold the door for me at Yogurtland. Then I woke up one day and realized I was just murdering – without cause. It got to the point that I lost count of the bodies, sometimes burying one right on top of the other while the grave was still fresh – this is the kind of thing people with anxiety go through. People would say, “Snap out of it!” or “Why can’t you just stop?” or “Fucking shit oh shit you stabbed my neck oh fucking shit shit shit” – it’s this kind of stigma that keeps people with mental illnesses from seeking treatment. http://www.originalsource.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/268x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/e/g/eggsalton.jpg
In addition to generating negative ions which improve mood and energy levels, the soft, natural light given off by a Himalayan pink salt lamp is close enough to the warm glow of sunshine that they can even be used to relieve the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder. After having this salt lamp for two months, the light bulb make a loud noise and sparked. I tried putting in a new bulb and it still wouldn't work. This ended up happening to three of the five salt lamps we purchased (I purchased five of these at once from this seller). I tried getting in contact with the seller and they never responded so now I'm stuck with 3 salt lamps that can't be used. http://kheopsinternational.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Slide-Show7-7.jpg

Himalayan pink salt lamps help clean the air through an operation called hygroscopy, which attracts and absorbs contaminated water molecules from the immediate environment and locks them into the salt crystal. The process has the amazing ability to remove cigarette smoke, dust and other contaminants from the air. This benefit is particularly popular, as salty air acts as an overall health booster and can help clear the air passages.  https://negativeionizers.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Morroccan-salt-lamp-1020x510.jpg

So yes, they’re beautiful, and you’re totally welcome to get one for that purpose. It’s just unlikely to provide any measurable medical benefits. But if you want one to add to your meditation routine or because it fits with your decor, go for it. “It’s a nice new-age prop to have,” Kogan says. “But also we have to be smart and not fall prey to marketing claims.” https://completehomespa.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/white-salt-lamp.jpg
A fireside glow holds a special place in our hearts thanks to the beauty and warmth it casts around it, making an ordinary evening into something special and unique. Now, a busy modern life keeps the majority of us from having the time to get away from the constant barrage of radiation and information that technology is throwing at us. You can get a glow that's just as soothing with even more health benefits with a Himalayan basket salt lamp. https://www.alohabay.com/products/saltlamps/GroupShot5.jpg
“I love your Himalayan salt lamps, I bought one for my six year old daughter Izabella who suffers from severe allergies. She had inner nose nodules and within three days of sleeping with her lamp they have shrunk in size. She has had her lamp for months, she has also had less allergy fevers. I love this product!!!! I also bought one for my mother Donna age 78, who has had asthma since she was a child. She also suffers from emphysema, so breathing and coughing is a normal in her everyday life. Since having the salt lamp in the family room where she spends most of her time, she has drastically stopped coughing so much.  She is also down on how much she uses her inhaler a day, seriously down from 8 times to 2, that is amazing!!!!“  Gabriel Mollina http://www.ipagepro.com/saltlampsetc/logos/Birch%20Basket.jpg

That doesn’t mean the people who have experienced benefits are entirely wrong, though. Kogan told SheKnows it’s possible the lamp provides a placebo effect. Essentially, a person believes the salt lamps will help, there’s a psychological component to their issue, and thus the lamp does relieve some of their symptoms. “It’s more of a mind-body effort, really, because it’s not like there’s some kind of biochemical being released from the lamp,” she said. https://himalayansaltboutique.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-easycart-data/products/pics1/Four%20Large%20Fire%20Bowl%20Salt%20Lamps%20Pack_c2c46206f0c48ab68421d0e4f9835e44.jpg

These soothing lamps may also help boost mood and energy levels, especially for those with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The soft orange hues are one of the soothing colors often used to calm mood and increase focus. The small amounts of negative ions may also be helpful in boosting mood as well. But, if you’re looking for the benefits of the negative ions, spend some time outside instead! http://www.universalvision.co.za/uploads/1/0/2/9/10293539/published/209-universal-vision-salt-lamp-natural-shape-medium.jpg?1527675746
The structure aspect is important, says Beauchamp. One way to get crystals to generate ions is to alter the shape of its crystal structure via temperature, something that can happen if a crystal structure is asymmetric. He points to a crystal called lithium tantalate, which changes its crystal structure when heated up in such a way as to create areas of high and low electrical potential when heated or cooled. This property allows it to generate an electric field that could, in theory, ionize the air around it. Sodium chloride’s chemical structure is a symmetrical cube that does not have the capability to generate high electric fields in the vicinity of a crystal. https://us-east-1.tchyn.io/snopes-production/uploads/2016/12/salt_lamp_tw.jpg?resize
Some electromagnetic waves carry so much energy per quantum that they have the ability to break bonds between molecules. In the electromagnetic spectrum, gamma rays given off by radioactive materials, cosmic rays and X-rays carry this property and are called ‘ionizing radiation’. Fields whose quanta are insufficient to break molecular bonds are called ‘non-ionizing radiation’. Man-made sources of electromagnetic fields that form a major part of industrialized life — electricity, microwaves and radiofrequency fields — are found at the relatively long wavelength and low frequency end of the electromagnetic spectrum and their quanta are unable to break chemical bonds.
Enjoy the best convenient night light, and have a good night sleep. This night lamp can be used as a gentle nursery night light or to keep dark hallways lit with dim soothing light and for creating a calming ambiance. That results to boost your energy and improve mood. https://originsalt.com/wp-content/uploads/3-himalayan-salt-lamps-color.png

Himalayan salt is now used in inhalers to bring relief to asthma and allergy sufferers. Salt therapy is also used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. COPD is a debilitating and degenerative lung disease characterized by the restriction of airflow in and out of the lungs. According to the Lung Institute, “Some people have found salt therapy to be an effective option for relieving symptoms of lung disease, resulting in easier breathing.” https://i.pinimg.com/736x/79/e8/56/79e8568bad6052f44f89cb6a28211632--rock-lamp-himalayan-salt-lamp.jpg

As discussed above, “boundless amounts” of negative ions would be a bit of a stretch, given the total and complete lack of any ions generated by our lamp. Ignoring that fact, however, brings us to the claim that positive ions make us feel bad and negative ions make us feel great. In terms of effects on mood, there is some research that suggests that negative ions can play a role in the treatment of seasonal affective disorder. A 1998 study in JAMA psychiatry found, for example, that: http://thetattooedbuddha.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/salt-lamp.jpg

Negative ions occur more often in nature and they are often created by things like lightening storms, sunlight, waterfalls, and ocean waves. Running water is considered nature’s greatest source of negative ions and may be one of the things that contributes to the refreshing scent of waterfalls and the beach. In fact, this is one of the reasons people often report feeling renewed or refreshed after a storm or after spending time at the beach. https://himalayansaltboutique.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-easycart-data/products/pics1/Himalayan%20Salt%20Rain%20Drop%20Salt%20Lamp_5e364a00d0aaadd5fbb3aac0f01e4a54.jpg
A large block of salt, like a pink Himalayan salt rock crystal, works by attracting the water molecules in your room. In so doing, it also pulls in all the pollutants and contaminants attached to these molecules. The salt rock lamp helps to detoxify your room by capturing and holding these particles so they aren’t left floating around for you to breathe in. Then, as the bulb heats the lamp, the water vapor is released back into the air, but the rock salt lamp retains the contaminants. http://thespiritscience.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/9720a2a492d9f4bdce80d93316b67dbf-672x372.jpg

Himalayan salt lamps purify the air through hygroscopy. The salt lamp attracts water from surrounding areas and absorbs the water vapor molecules along with any particles that those molecules may be carrying. The light inside of the lamp helps the salt to warm up, making that water evaporate back into the air while the unwanted, foreign particles stay trapped inside the salt. We’ve had a salt lamp in the bedroom for many years, however we don’t know if it makes a significant difference or not. Shortly after purchasing it, the little “light” that was inside stopped working. I have never purchased anything that has this kind of light to last very long as the lights are very cheap and poor quality. So we always wonder if the salt lamp has any beneficial effects at all without the heat and light coming from the bulb inside.

Another awesome ability negative ions have is they can bond together with positive ions and by doing so, they neutralize them. This is beneficial to us because positive ions do not have a positive effect on the human body. Positive ions are created and emitted by electronic devices, such as TVs and microwaves. They are harmful and unhealthy for us and while many people are minimally affected by them, others experience allergies, headaches, stress, and sleep issues from them. https://holisticnaturalliving.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/top-10-metal-basket-salt-lamps.jpg

Pink Himalayan salt rock lamps provide a soothing, therapeutic glow to any room in which they’re placed. They could be used as an integral part of an altar or simply tasteful design elements to improve any mystical and meditative space in your home. Whether you’re looking to improve the atmosphere in your home office or create a space that inspires the life you want to live, a Himalayan salt lamp could be the perfect solution. https://www.spiritualquest.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/p-1161-pyramid-3pack-salt-lamps.jpg
Salt is hygroscopic, which means it attracts water molecules to itself. Being the big hunk of salt that it is, a Himalayan salt lamp is believed to work by attracting the water molecules. This water vapor can also carry indoor air pollutants like mold, bacteria and allergens. Once the water vapor comes in contact with the salt lamp, the pollutants are believed to remain trapped in the salt. Since the lamp is heated, the salt dries out and is able to continue the cycle of attracting water vapor and pollutants, releasing the water vapor back into the air but holding on to the health-hazardous pollutants.

So Well Himalayan salt lamps do not generate negative ions themselves. They are “hygroscopic,” which means that they attract moisture… humidity… airborne water molecules; it is a natural property of sodium chloride (hygroscopy). Since they do not generate the negative ions, they need a heat source (in this case, heat from an incandescent bulb) to accelerate evaporation, which does produce negative ions. In more humid regions, an unlit salt lamp will eventually “cry,” even creating puddles of water at its base. It is this evaporation that generates the negative ions, which are beneficial to our health. https://topportalreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Natural-6-to-8-Himalayan-Salt-Lamp-Ionic-Air-Purifier-on-Wood-Base-with-Cord-Light-Bulb.jpg

Himalayan salt lamps are made from pink salt crystals mined from the edge of the Himalayan Mountains—the only place where you can acquire authentic Himalayan pink salt. However, the lamps themselves range in color from light pink to pink with an orange hue, depending on the mineral concentration. The pink Himalayan salt crystals are mined, then hollowed out and fitted with a bulb to provide both light and heat. Himalayan salt rock lamps also come in baskets of crystal salt blocks with a light underneath.
It should be said that there are downsides: Sometimes a salt lamp will create a kind of condensation, but that shouldn't be a problem if you purchase one that has a protective wood stand (or set one that doesn't on a plate) to protect your table. And apparently they also make the room dustier, due to something about the "negative ions" being released attaching themselves to particles in the air and causing them to drop down. On the upside, this is what cleans the air. On the downside, well, dusting. We're so damn curious we're going to buy one and see what happens. Paired with the "seashore" setting on our sound machines, it'll basically be like sleeping at the beach.
Himalayan salt lamps are made from large rock crystals of salt mined in Pakistan and India in the vicinity of the Himalayas. The crystals are usually orange or pink but can range from off-white to dark brown. Carved into lamps, they can be lit from within using a light bulb or candle. These give out an attractive, soothing light and have been credited with providing various health benefits including the elimination of the “electro-smog” you mention. Retailers also tout their production of “positive energy” in the form of negative ions that supposedly bring oxygen to the brain, reduce indoor pollution, boost the immune system and cure seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
Since we are constantly surrounded by modern day WIFI, CELL phone towers, Tv’s and other electrical appliances, these things give off a lot of Electro magnetic Radiation or EMFS for short. These EMF’s high in positive ions have been known to reduce our serotonin levels and can cause cancer, fatigue, lathery and a host of problems we face today. Salt lamps, since they have the ability to generate negative ions, neutralize these EMF’s . https://organicallergyrelief.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/salt-lamp.jpg
These negative ions occur in nature via the effects of water, air, and sunlight. Have you ever gone for a hike through the mountains or near a waterfall only to feel rejuvenated? Negative ions are partly to thank for that wonderful feeling. Nature has the ability to heal, and proponents of Himalayan salt lamps argue these pink salt rocks can mimic, to an extent, the feeling you get from being outside. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1181/6598/products/SaltLamp8inch_1_2048x.jpg?v
To accent the natural beauty of the salt crystals, it is housed in a decorative metal vase, perfect for the design-conscious home. Illuminate your room with a warm, pleasant and relaxing amber glow. It's a perfect choice in the center of a coffee table or desk. Great for meditation, yoga spaces, and as a nightlight. Also, you can try it as a Bedside lamp. Due to the natural variation in Himalayan Crystal salt, weight, size, color and shape may vary. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41kWAXLtkgL.jpg

rubbing alcohol kills those suckers FAST! You have to be careful because rubbing alcohol is flammable but it is highly effective. Our downstairs neighbor in our old apt. building had a nest of bedbugs he never bothered to get rid of and they spread through our building. We ended up with an infestation ourselves which two visits from an exterminator was not able to eradicate. I was desperate and at the end of my rope when I started trying all different types of chemicals, pledge, windex, you name it.. nothing really worked until I spilled rubbing alcohol on my bed by accident. Next thing you know, they were avoiding that side of the bed… I started spraying the mattress every night before bed (leaving the room until the fumes settled). problem solved! We’ve since moved and not a single one made it to our new place, THANK GOD!

It is possible that the negative ions released by Himalayan salt lamps may protect against airborne germs. In addition to removing these contaminants from the air, the salt also allows the body to filter air more effectively in an attempt to block any foreign particles from making it into the lungs. This can prevent the advancement of coughing, sneezing, sore throats, and other minor symptoms of the common cold.  http://www.earthandskyconnection.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/lamp20-ma.jpg
When it comes to buying Himalayan pink salt lamps, take into consideration the size of the room in which you wish to use your lamp. The coverage of a salt lamp is determined by the size of the salt crystal. For the average-sized bedroom, a smaller lamp is usually adequate, but if you’re looking to use it in a larger area like your living room, you want to go bigger. On average, to effectively cleanse the air of a space, you need one pound of salt rock for every 16 square feet (four feet by four feet) area. If needed, you can always use multiple salt lamps spread out in a single room. https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/m/mrho7eHHe6F4RrxEyY4uC-A/s-l225.jpg
Since positive ions are often created by electronic devices like computers, TVs, microwaves, and even vacuum cleaners, they can often exacerbate problems like allergies, stress and sleep trouble. Negative ions can neutralize positive ions (they bond together) and help cleanse the air. Additionally, salt lamps offer a soothing glow that many people find relaxing. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51CGE7be9qL.jpg
[…] Many natural living advocates claim that the negative salt ions that are released by heating the salt can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and calm allergy or asthma symptoms. It has also been said that the negative ions are known to neutralize electromagnetic radiation from household electronics, as well as prevent the build up of static electricity. In 1966, a hospital in Jerusalem conducted a study of thirty-eight infants suffering from respiratory problems. They cared for half of the infants in a ward without any ion change, and cared for the other half in a ward where a negative-ion generator was in use. “The researchers reported that neg-ions without any other treatment “ that is, no drugs “ seemed to cure attacks of asthma and bronchitis more quickly than drugs, antibiotics included… children treated with neg-ions were less prone to ‘rebound attacks’ (relapses)… the scientific report said that the tests ‘demonstrated that atmospheric ions have an effect on infants, especially those suffering from asthmatic bronchitis. Less scientifically, they found that the babies didn’t cry as often and as loudly as they did in normal air.” The Ion Effect, by Fred Soyka, p. 57, 1991. https://healthylivinginbodyandmind.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Pink-Salt-.jpg
“The lady doth protest too much…” This article suggests to me that the writer or those who have paid to writer has a hidden agenda. And I’ll cite that science has made our world into a shit hole where we are now browbeaten into accepting and trusting conventional gangster snake oil medicine, pesticides, herbicides, fluoride, mercury laced vaccines, etc., and so on, all of which is touted to be good for us but which is poison to us while we are ridiculed and discouraged by science “experts” from using natural solutions. Science and scientists have betrayed us. And why? Because they are funded by those who want to continue to poison us. If the writer of this article is in earnest, then the writer has been thoroughly, successfully indoctrinated into serving on the wrong side of history.
I bought three of these and gave two for Christmas gifts and they are amazing!! I noticed the minute I opened the box this wonderful fresh smell, like a salty ocean breeze! Each one was beautiful and uniquely different. The bulb is included and everyone especially loved the dimmer switch feature. These are indeed the real deal and are carved from Himalayan salt. They're simply beautiful and we're and exceptional deal at less than $15.00!! https://bj09gkcjd3-flywheel.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/the-benefits-of-himalayan-salt-lamps-2.jpg

We need light to see, but the light that we frequently use is overly bright and emits at frequencies that are overwhelming to our eyes. Unfortunately, there was no sufficient alternative to typical light sources until the invention of the Himalayan salt lamp. The versatile salt stones come in natural and shaped sculptures which have a unique aesthetic that’s unmatched. The pinkish-orange hue that the lamp emits is soothing and warm, but you can also try a multicolor USB lamp to pick a color that fits your architectural dreams. In addition to the visible effect on the ambiance, salt possesses a quality known as hygroscopy that absorbs water vapor and the attached microbes from the air. They also emit negative ions that reverse the effect of positive ionization from other technological devices which are known to have detrimental health effects over time such as increasing the risk of cancer. Combined with the natural beauty of the hazy, soft light that is more enjoyable than a bright overhead or grating florescent light, a Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp will instantly improve the ambiance of any room in a natural and healthy way. Adding a Himalayan rock salt lamp will instantly improve the ambiance of any room in a natural and healthy way. http://saltlamps.biz/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Turtle-Salt-Lamp.jpg
So many things around us nowadays release electromagnetic radiation in the form of unhealthy positive ions — things like your cell phone, computer and television, just to name a few.  This electromagnetic radiation (EM), aka electrosmog, may be invisible but is believed to cause some serious long-term effects. Constant exposure to EM radiation is known primarily to cause fatigue, increase stress and weaken the immune system. http://www.nutroactive.com/Content/Manage/Product/ExtraLarge/32641071lt7OxMFJL._SL1100_.jpg
Because Himalayan salt lamps remove microscopic particles of dust, pet dander, mold, mildew and the like from the surrounding air, placing a lamp or two in the rooms where you spend the most time can seriously cut back on allergy symptoms. Even people who suffer from asthma should notice a big difference after a week or two. (In fact, Himalayan pink salt is so good for your airways, there are even HPS Inhalers!) https://media.mercola.com/assets/Images/himalayan-salt-lamp/himalayan-salt-lamps-small.jpg
Everyday appliances such as televisions, cell phones, computers and tablets release positive ions into the air constantly. These and other common electronics can cause an overflow of electromagnetic radiation (EM), which, although invisible, is believed to cause some serious long-term effects. Constant exposure to EM radiation is known primarily to cause fatigue, increase stress and weaken the immune system. Himalayan salt lamps emit negative ions and cancel out positive ones. Therefore, by neutralizing electromagnetic radiation, they help reduce artificial frequencies and even prevent static buildup.

The Himalayan pink salt lamp lets off this beautiful pink/orange glow that is reminiscent of a sunset. Just as the blue light is energizing, the slower wavelengths in the warmer colors are relaxing to the mind and easier on the eyes. I think about it like the difference in the natural energy cycle at high noon and at sunset. The salt lamp is great for balancing the extra blue light.

A Himalayan salt lamp is a lamp formed from natural Himalayan salt and absorbs water and particles from the air. It removes negative ions, and replaces them with positive ions, while  purifying  the air and keeping your lungs clear. Salt crystal is perfect for those with allergy sensitivity, as the salt lamps work to purify the air and emit ions for better air quality. The light glow of the lamp itself creates a calming sensation that is perfect for rejuvenation, relaxation and reflection.

This is a genuine Himalayan salt lamp. You can tell because of the unique color of the salt and the fragility of it. Its salt so you want to see it rub a bit off. It is good to know that it is genuine. The light bulb was broken upon arrival but I do not blame the seller for that and they have been very communicative in their response to get a new light bulb. I am contemplating buying one for friends. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/kBJXOgitHwo/hqdefault.jpg
This unique large Belcourt Natural 14" Salt Lamp is made from salt crystals gathered at the foothills of the Himalayas; crystals that produce a deeper, darker red glow. Heating the salt with the included bulb releases negative ions into the air, creating an effect similar to an ionizer. The outside surface of the lamp stays cool to the touch, as the heat of the light is dissipated within the salt. Due to the natural variation in rock salt, weight, size, color and shape may vary. The shape of... https://techaeris.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Levoit-Himalayan-Salt-Lamp-review-03.jpg
Bacteria, molds and allergens all carry a positive charge and the positive ions are also constantly added to our surroundings by electronic devices like laptops, LCDs, microwaves, and other household gadgets.  Positive ions are considered to cause problems like hypersensitivity, stress and insomnia. Basically, the positive ions cause an imbalance in our systems and raise stress and anxiety. https://himalayansaltlampstore.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/maple-leaf-salt-lamp-usb-mini.jpg
Incidentally, that nice pinkish color that glows once the bulb is turned on is the only thing you are going to get from a salt lamp. Salt lamps may look neat, but claims that they can do anything medically rely — fatally — on the claim that the lamps produce negative ions and then further rely on a series gross simplifications or misinterpretations of science to argue that those negative ions (which don’t exist in the first place) could affect you in any meaningful way.

The other claim, discussed in more detail below, has to do with a study published on the effects of ionization in neural structures and blood flow in laboratory rats. In a similar issue of blindly comparing different scales, these rats (which are both not human and much smaller than humans) were directly fed negatively ionized air at high concentrations that would be inconceivable for a block of salt to produce, even if it did produce some small amount of ions.
This is a genuine Himalayan salt lamp. You can tell because of the unique color of the salt and the fragility of it. Its salt so you want to see it rub a bit off. Anyway - I will admit that I did what others have done - I licked my finger and taste tested the lamp. Yup it is real salt, and yes I encouraged all the recipients of the lamps to do the same!! Before giving the gifts, and because of some of the reviews about function problems, we unboxed each lamp and plugged them in to ensure that they all worked properly. They did and as promised - each beautiful lamp was stunningly unique. The shapes, the shades of color, and even the lines that ran through the lamps made sure that no ... full review
Real Himalayan salt lamps are actually solid blocks of Himalayan salt that have been hand-carved. Deep underground mines in Khewra, Pakistan, located on the western edge of the Himalayan Mountains, are the only source of true Himalayan pink salt. The color of Himalayan salt lamps ranges from a light pink to a pinkish orange with the hue a result of the mineral concentration. Within the hollowed-out center of this block of salt is a light bulb that emits both light and heat. A salt lamp is not a lamp at all if it doesn’t have the light and heat source within it. Without that, it’s just a block of salt.
Salt therapy for breathing problems is said to have begun with Siberian salt mine workers in the later 1800s who had a surprisingly small number of respiratory problems compared to people around them with less salty professions. Nowadays, you can find salt caves at various spas, and this salt cave experience is also trying to be re-created with the invention of salt pipe inhalers. Salt lamps are another smaller-scale way to bring the salt cave experience (and hopefully the health benefits) home. One of the health detriments of breathing lots of positive ions in the air is that the cilia (microscopic hairs) which line the trachea (aka: windpipe) become sluggish and don’t work as well to keep contaminants out of our lungs. As a Himalayan pink salt lamp absorbs water and particles from the air, it also takes positive ions with them. Then, when the heated salt releases cleansed water vapor back into the air, it also expels negative ions which have the opposite effect on our airways – increasing cilial activity to keep your lungs clear. https://completehomespa.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chipped-salt-lamp.jpg
This explanation has the great benefit of sounding scientific. Who really knows how ions are formed in the first place or what will happen to blocks of heated salt rock, anyway? One person with pretty deep knowledge on the topic is Caltech professor of chemistry Jack Beauchamp, an expert in (among other things) the myriad processes that generate ions and the analytical methods used to detect those ions. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71bnV1fI5ML._SX466_.jpg
