[…] Many natural living advocates claim that the negative salt ions that are released by heating the salt can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and calm allergy or asthma symptoms. It has also been said that the negative ions are known to neutralize electromagnetic radiation from household electronics, as well as prevent the build up of static electricity. Well written article on Himalayan Salt lamps. I have these lamps in my house. These lamps are just more than awesome. They are not only beautiful but also have healthy and healing benefits for human mind and body as you have mentioned above. They eliminate all the dust particles and smoke from the air and make it pure and fresh. They help me in relieving stress and depression and improve the sleep cycle. I bought my lamps from ittefaqco at a very reasonable price and they are of great quality. You can visit their website if you want to.

Basically positive ions are considered to cause problems like hypersensitivity, stress and insomnia. They cause an imbalance in our systems and raise stress and anxiety. Bacteria, molds and allergens all carry a positive charge and the positive ions are also constantly added to our surroundings by electronic devices like laptops, LCDs, microwaves, and other household gadgets. Nature creates negative ions to counter these positive ions . The negative ions increase the oxygen supply to the brain that creates alertness of mind and reduces lethargy and anxiety.
When it comes to buying Himalayan pink salt lamps, take into consideration the size of the room in which you wish to use your lamp. The coverage of a salt lamp is determined by the size of the salt crystal. For the average-sized bedroom, a smaller lamp is usually adequate, but if you’re looking to use it in a larger area like your living room, you want to go bigger. On average, to effectively cleanse the air of a space, you need one pound of salt rock for every 16 square feet (four feet by four feet) area. If needed, you can always use multiple salt lamps spread out in a single room.
This unique salt lamp is made from natural Himalayan salt crystals hand mined in the Himalayan mountains. Once lit the lamp will emit a calming amber color. Heating the salt with the included bulb releases negative ions into the air, creating an effect similar to an ionizer, purifying the surrounding air. Due to the natural variation in Himalayan crystal salt, weight, size, color and shape may vary. A few months back I noticed  some changes in my personality. I felt low and sad a lot and no more enjoyed the company  and activities that I loved before. I thought it to be simple depression due to some happenings in my personal life. I tried to involve myself in various activities but did not feel any better. Rather , the situation started worsening and I found myself extremely nervous and worrying a lot about very trivial things. I often felt a racing heart, sweating, lightheadedness and sometimes got shortness of breath  and choking.

However, there is no evidence that these lamps produce meaningful amounts of negatively charged particles, or ions, or that they reduce pollutants in the air. To assess the health claims, scientists need to answer three basic questions: Does Himalayan salt contain any special ingredients that could somehow positively affect health? Do negative ions benefit health? And if they do benefit health, do these lamps produce them in any quantity? Malin said. On all three counts, there is little-to-no evidence supporting the claims, he said. http://www.natural-salt-lamps.com/wp-content/uploads/roundsaltcandleholder-300x201.jpg
BHandari foods offers you Himalayan salt which is Himalayan crystal salt is far superior to traditional iodized salt. Himalayan salt is millions of years old and pure, untouched by many of the toxins and pollutants that pervade other forms of ocean salt. The health benefits of using natural Himalayan Crystal Salt may include,Controlling the water levels within the body, regulating them for proper functioning,Promoting stable pH balance in the cells, including the brain.Encouraging excellent blood sugar health.

Despite numerous experimental and analytical differences across studies, the literature does not clearly support a beneficial role in exposure to negative air ions and respiratory function or asthmatic symptom alleviation. Further, collectively, the human experimental studies do not indicate a significant detrimental effect of exposure to positive air ions on respiratory measures. Exposure to negative or positive air ions does not appear to play an appreciable role in respiratory function. https://cdn.wellnessmama.com/wp-content/uploads/The-truth-about-himalayan-salt-lamps.jpg
Beauchamp was skeptical that a heated block of sodium chloride would produce ions (any amount of them, positive or negative ones, let alone “boundless amounts”) but not so skeptical that he didn’t want to hook up the most popular salt lamp available from Amazon.com to his lab’s quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer. This instrument, in essence, sucks in air from directly around the solid and analyzes the mass and charge of particles captured by the instrument. Here’s Beauchamp description of what he did in his own words:
Negative ions bind to positive ions in the environment, neutralizing them before they have a chance to get into our bodies and wreak havoc. Studies have shown negative ions to help increase serotonin and oxygen levels in the brain, which can decrease drowsiness, alleviate stress, and boost energy. In fact, some studies suggest they’re as effective as antidepressants for people experiencing chronic depression or seasonal affective disorder. https://img.grouponcdn.com/deal/41NTtGeN2czMrD5Ay9iBzRZNnv5v/41-2048x1229/v1/c700x420.jpg
I purchased this item from Amazon and a year or so later the dimmer switch stopped working. When I took it apart to inspect I found the transistor (which is severely undersized for this design) had overheated and burned up itself and the circuit board. I searched the part numbers online and discovered this is the *exact same* board that has been recalled by other manufacturers (i.e., Micheals). I do not understand why Amazon has not recalled their version of it yet. It is a fire waiting to happen. I would not recommend anyone using this product.
You: "Salt is a thing I sprinkle on bland food to make it better." Internet: "Salt is therapeutic, the basis of an entire form of alternative medicine called halotherapy that's been around for millennia." The practice is said to treat everything from insomnia and anxiety to skin conditions, simple congestion, and cold symptoms, among other ailments. And you don't have to visit a salt cave spa in Spain to try it out. In fact, you could just buy a Himalayan salt lamp and set it jauntily on your side table like the conversation starter it definitely is, regardless of how well it actually works. Best case scenario, you start to sleep better! (We'll try basically anything for this outcome.) Worst case, you and your roomies find it to be a totally unique and delightfully kitschy decorative accent that also happens to provide a pinkish, glowing light.

This unique large Belcourt Natural 14" Salt Lamp is made from salt crystals gathered at the foothills of the Himalayas; crystals that produce a deeper, darker red glow. Heating the salt with the included bulb releases negative ions into the air, creating an effect similar to an ionizer. The outside surface of the lamp stays cool to the touch, as the heat of the light is dissipated within the salt. Due to the natural variation in rock salt, weight, size, color and shape may vary. Real Himalayan salt lamps are actually solid blocks of Himalayan salt that have been hand-carved. Deep underground mines in Khewra, Pakistan, located on the western edge of the Himalayan Mountains, are the only source of true Himalayan pink salt. The color of Himalayan salt lamps ranges from a light pink to a pinkish orange with the hue a result of the mineral concentration. Within the hollowed-out center of this block of salt is a light bulb that emits both light and heat. A salt lamp is not a lamp at all if it doesn’t have the light and heat source within it. Without that, it’s just a block of salt.

All matter (the human body, air, water, etc) is made up of molecules which are made up of atoms which are made up of three types of particles: protons (positive charge), electrons (negative charge), and neutrons (no charge). Electrons orbit their molecules like planets revolve around a star. Occasionally an electron flies off and when it does, it leaves behind a positively-charged ion whose sole purpose in life becomes to fill the void left by its little lost electron. In other words: it wants to steal a replacement electron from another molecule. Due to differences in molecular structure (number of electrons in the outermost orbit, strength and structure of electron bonds, etc) some materials lose electrons much more easily than others.
Salt therapy for breathing problems is said to have begun with Siberian salt mine workers in the later 1800s who had a surprisingly small number of respiratory problems compared to people around them with less salty professions. Nowadays, you can find salt caves at various spas, and this salt cave experience is also trying to be re-created with the invention of salt pipe inhalers. Salt lamps are another smaller-scale way to bring the salt cave experience (and hopefully the health benefits) home. Hi Alex, Himalayan salt lamp is a type of rock salt lamp – they are made from salt crystals from the Himalayan mountain regions and come in variety of shades such as white or orange/pink. There are other rock salt lamps that come from a number of other locations throughout the world (although some claim that the finest quality comes from the Himalaya). https://www.yoursaltlamps.com/prodimages/himalayan_salt_lamp_light_bulbs_orange.jpg

What's more, the amount of air in the room is so huge relative to the size of the rock crystals that few of the pollutants circulating in the room could stick to the surface of the rock salt. Even if the lamps did manage to attract pollutants, the surface of the rock salt would quickly become coated with pollutants and no more could stick. Meanwhile, the air supply is always being replenished, either through ventilation systems or open doors or windows, bringing ever-more air pollutants into the room, he said. http://www.meridianpeakhypnosis.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/himalayian-salt-lamp.jpg

“I love your Himalayan salt lamps, I bought one for my six year old daughter Izabella who suffers from severe allergies. She had inner nose nodules and within three days of sleeping with her lamp they have shrunk in size. She has had her lamp for months, she has also had less allergy fevers. I love this product!!!! I also bought one for my mother Donna age 78, who has had asthma since she was a child. She also suffers from emphysema, so breathing and coughing is a normal in her everyday life. Since having the salt lamp in the family room where she spends most of her time, she has drastically stopped coughing so much.  She is also down on how much she uses her inhaler a day, seriously down from 8 times to 2, that is amazing!!!!“  Gabriel Mollina https://i.ytimg.com/vi/kesWa9fJ-mI/hqdefault.jpg
Everyday appliances such as televisions, cell phones, computers and tablets release positive ions into the air constantly. These and other common electronics can cause an overflow of electromagnetic radiation (EM), which, although invisible, is believed to cause some serious long-term effects. Constant exposure to EM radiation is known primarily to cause fatigue, increase stress and weaken the immune system. Himalayan salt lamps emit negative ions and cancel out positive ones. Therefore, by neutralizing electromagnetic radiation, they help reduce artificial frequencies and even prevent static buildup.
Sellers of these spa-like room accessories claim the lamps can "clear the air of electro-smog," oxygenate the brain, reduce symptoms of such mood disorders as seasonal affective disorder and even improve the immune system. Proponents claim these lamps work in two ways: They attract allergens and pollutants from the air to their surface, and they generate negative ions.

While “radioactive waves” are not—strictly speaking—a thing, what the author is likely talking about is an electromagnetic field generated by household electronics. The issue is that the only problem a salt lamp (via its dubious negative ionizer mechanism) would theoretically solve is a preponderance of positively charged ions in the air which would be in turn neutralized by the negative ions. An electromagnetic field will only generate ions if the voltage is high enough to cause an electric discharge, and the electromagnetic fields generated by household appliances are not that that strong, per the WHO: https://www.tibetansalts.com/images/large_6pack.jpg

In order to achieve relief and feel at peace, we often find ourselves in areas near a waterfall or on a secluded beach. We often feel the calmness in those areas because of the high number of negative ions present. According to WebMD, negative ions are able to increase oxygen flow to the brain which results in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, and more mental energy. Based on claims, the Himalayan salt lamp can give us the same feeling. https://www.hotcouponworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/recall-notice-salt-lamps-696x497.jpg

Sadly, we live in an age and day where we feel stressed out mostly due to work. Our lives are completely taken over by technology and there is hardly anything we can do to stop it. These wireless technologies tend to spread positive ions into the environment. These ions are actually harmful to us humans as they create an imbalance in our system which is what causes stress and anxiety. http://www.criticalcactus.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Himalayan-salt-lamp.jpg

After having this salt lamp for two months, the light bulb make a loud noise and sparked. I tried putting in a new bulb and it still wouldn't work. This ended up happening to three of the five salt lamps we purchased (I purchased five of these at once from this seller). I tried getting in contact with the seller and they never responded so now I'm stuck with 3 salt lamps that can't be used.
As I described earlier, a Himalayan salt lamp by its salty nature is able to easily attract water vapor to it. With this water vapor often comes indoor air pollutants, including allergens, mold and bacteria. When the water hits the heated lamp, the salt traps the pollutants but releases the water vapor. This cycle repeats while the lamp is on and warm. By removing pollutants from the air, the salt lamp leaves you with cleaner, healthier air.
Himalayan salt lamps are believed to filter dust, mold, mildew and pet dander from indoor air. Just as a nasal saline spray uses salt to clear airways, they help to relieve allergy symptoms of all kinds. Those who struggle with asthma also claim to benefit from Himalayan salt. It is such an effective breathing aid that certain manufacturers have produced Himalayan salt inhalers targeted toward sufferers of asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory issues.
Taking a drive through the countryside with the windows down, spending time at the beach or camping in the mountains, or simply taking a shower first thing in the morning are all things that many people find invigorating. It’s not a coincidence that these are all activities which expose us to increased concentrations of negative ions such as those generated by Himalayan salt lamps. The fact is, positive ions sap our bodies of energy. Unfortunately, it’s all too common for us to try to diagnose the problem as something else entirely. http://www.himalayansaltlampbenefits.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Volcano-Lamp-1024x683.jpg

“The lady doth protest too much…” This article suggests to me that the writer or those who have paid to writer has a hidden agenda. And I’ll cite that science has made our world into a shit hole where we are now browbeaten into accepting and trusting conventional gangster snake oil medicine, pesticides, herbicides, fluoride, mercury laced vaccines, etc., and so on, all of which is touted to be good for us but which is poison to us while we are ridiculed and discouraged by science “experts” from using natural solutions. Science and scientists have betrayed us. And why? Because they are funded by those who want to continue to poison us. If the writer of this article is in earnest, then the writer has been thoroughly, successfully indoctrinated into serving on the wrong side of history.
A study published in BMC Psychiatry found that enough negative ionization can have an effect on reducing stress and anxiety; however, your chances of feeling a difference may depend on just how many negative ions occupy your home. Himalayan Salt Lamps can release negative ions into the air, helping to soothe the atmosphere in your house on a molecular level.
